Get a Photographer

I know I shouldn’t criticize the work of others, but I was looking at some pictures of what appeared to be a very low budget wedding where the “photographer” was more then likely a friend of the bride(or groom) with a nice camera. Well sadly the pictures were not good at all, at least in my opinion… I honestly felt so sorry for the bride. To think that the bride will look at those pictures for the rest of her life, and hopefully remember the way she felt, but to always have those not so great pictures as the reminder is so sad! I honestly wish I could have been like “you deserve good pictures. Please, let me take them for free!” now by no means am I saying I would have taken top notch pictures, but I am confident they would have been much better then what she got!
See it is my opinion, when planning your wedding, and note: I am not married, but have been to enough weddings and talked with enough couples, and seen enough photos to know that pictures of that special day are very important! Probably next in the “importance line” to the “I Do’s” so get a photographer who knows what they’re doing! Even if you have to cut back on some other aspect of the wedding. I mean the pictures are what tell the story of you, your love, your wedding. The pictures help you remember who was there, where it was, how you decorated, your dad crying, the flower girl picking her nose, how happy you were, and the great time your guests were having. The pictures tell the story that began the rest of your lives together. You want that in the best form possible both for you in the years to come, but also for your posterity! I know I personally love going through my parents wedding albums and seeing the few photos taken at my grandparent’s weddings! It is a magical thing to have those wonderful moments captured for forever, they should be in the best quality possible. Even if it is a friend taking your pictures, get a friend who has an idea of what they are doing who you can fully trust to capture the moments the way you hope to remember them. A friend who knows how to bring the bride’s beauty to life in an image as well as make the groom look confident, comfortable, and ya, know manly. No Bride want to look manlier then her groom and no groom wants to girly-er then his bride! Its just how it is!
