Like any story there is a beginning, middle and
eventually an end. And with every individual there is a different point of view
to that one story. But more times then not, all sides of the story go in one
direction (pun intended :P)
My side of this story started last summer (2012) when I heard a song on the radio. this song was up beat, fun and as a girl it spoke to me. This song was called "What Makes You Beautiful". After hearing this song constantly over the radio I discovered that it was sung by a British Boy Band called One Direction. Now I figured out that this band was capturing the hearts of "Tweens" all over the world! And why not?! They were a group of good looking guys who sang and have accents. Me, I just really liked their songs I heard while in my car!
Well, in November (2012) my side of this story took an unexpected turn and developed when I got a phone call- from my Wynter, asking if I'd want to take my little sister, Eliza, to the One Direction concert when their tour came to Denver. It would be a surprise Christmas present... I WAS ALL FOR THIS IDEA!!! A concert with my little sis, what could be better?! And being she was a HUGE (well, I considered her to be so) 1D fan I knew it would mean a lot. So I got the tickets. But I didn't want to just take Eliza to the concert; I wanted to make sure I could share her excitement. So I did what I'm sure every tween girl (with internet access) across the globe has done, I YouTubed One Direction. I watched the coverage of them on the XFactor, their interviews, their documentaries, their music videos, and I became a fan. Yes, I’m a “Directioner”.I think they have talent. And I justify liking them, as not to be a creeper, by saying that the oldest member of the band was born the same year I was (yes, me knowing that could be considered creepy, but like I said I did my research!) when Christmas came and Eliza saw the tickets she cried! That's how much this meant to her. And we were both ecstatic. Then all we had to do was wait for July!

Yay, 1D tickets!!!
July finally came and the day before the concert
Wynter and Eliza arrived in Denver.
And Eliza and I set to work making T-shirts for the concert, while visiting and
listening to One Direction songs and clueing Wynter in on our 1D knowledge. The
excitement growing as every minute passed.
We are awesome fans- we make our own T-shirts! Mine had the English Flag on the back and Eliza's had the Irish with "Niall"
We arrived at the Pepsi Center
in DownTown Denver and it was Crazy! Young girls EVERY WHERE!!! We grabbed a
bite to eat, looked around and then got in line- the longest line I have ever
seen!
Photos with the band! ;)
left to right: Niall, Louis, Harry, Liam and
Zayn
Eliza is more of a Niall and Zayn fan and if I had to choose it would be Liam or Louis- but I think they're all great!

The CRAZY LONG LINE! The Pepsi Center is in the distance.. Yeah, I know!
The One Direction Tour Bus?! Maybe...
Almost in the Building! SO EXCITING!
When we finally got inside and found our seats
we were in "Awe" at the amount of people there! Eliza is pretty sure the entire
population of our home town could fit in the arena and still have room- she's
probably right.
Our view
We were in the "nose bleed" section of
the arena, but still had fun! We sang at the top of our lungs to every song.
(Singing at the top of your lungs with One Direction live is SO much better
then singing at the top of your lungs with them through the radio in the
car!!!) I soaked up every minute of it! There was one point towards the end if
the concert that the band was off stage (wardrobe change) and the stage lights were
off making the arena dark, and as we sat there waiting for whatever would come
next, my seat started to vibrate and my ears began to ring-even when I plugged
them with my hands, because of the earth shattering screams and cheers coming
from the Directioners of Denver! It was a moment of "Awe" and worry;
I was honestly really worried about the ringing in my ears! But then the guys
were back on stage doing their thing- making the screams die down and my ears
feel normal again! In between songs the guys just talked, and that was enough!
Thanks to the mix of personality and humor the five of them just vibe off each
other and it is SO entertaining! Honestly, if I could choose any living
person/group to be stuck in an elevator with it would be the guys of One Direction,
just because I feel like they would guaranty an amusing time. And let's not
forget the accents! British/Irish!!! Just listening to that could put you in a
trance!
"I Would"
"Live While We're Young"
There was a stage in the middle of the arena so we got a closer look
Still can't believe we are here
All too soon they were singing "What Makes You Beautiful" and
the concert was over... I really wanted to yell "encore", get a chant
going and get one more song out of them, but I knew they needed to get off to
the next location so probably wouldn’t do it.. They are busy bees during tour,
for sure!
And then it was over with, "What Makes You Beautiful"
Ahhh!!!! Happy to be there, sad that it is time to leave!
This is a shot that Harry took from stage. Eliza and I are in the "nose-bleed" section just right of the Canadian Flag
And then Eliza and I spent an hour talking about how great the night was and
how amazingly fantastic the concert had been while trying to drive home (it
should have only taken 15minutes! Traffic was CRAZY!!!) But we both agreed that
we need to see them again!
A night of a
life time! And just a small part of the story I share with One Direction and my
sister! No longer the beginning of the story and far from the end- just pleasantly
somewhere in between.
