Sarah and Iver Wedding

Iver: we're probably the only couple you'll ever meet who can say they met in jail.

This is what I was told when I asked to hear the story of how Iver and Sarah met. But as I was mulling this over in my mind Iver continued by saying that in fact that story was far from true, he just liked making it a bit more unique. (I might add that Sarah's expression had not betrayed Iver's fib. That's why it was easy for me to want to believe this story even though common sense said otherwise). I instantly knew these two individuals were amazing and that I was beyond lucky that this incredible couple was asking me to photograph their wedding day!

Iver (actually) first saw Sarah at church and right away knew he had to meet her. As chance, or even destiny if you will, would have it, a short time after this first sight, Sarah invited Iver to a group activity during which Iver found himself and Sarah separated from the rest of the group- left with an ideal situation to ask Sarah out on a date Iver didn't waste time! After that there was no going back. Love came and as Sarah and Iver grew together their love as well, grew stronger.

They were married For Time and Eternity" in the
Denver LDS Temple on the 17th of August 2013.

The morning of, I went to photograph the day starting with Sarah getting ready. Sarah appeared calm, but underneath that there was excitement ready to burst at the seams. As was expected, she was after all marrying her best friend.

Iver came to pick Sarah up before heading to the temple. And though the chaos of the day was just starting, they were able to share a few quiet moments together. A part of the day I absolutely loved!

Sarah and Iver emerged from the temple as husband and wife to a crowd of welcoming family and friends eager to greet the happy couple.

Did I mention that Iver made Sarah’s bouquet???

Sarah and Iver along with getting married in the temple chose to have a ring ceremony; so that all of their family and friends could witness and celebrate the day they became man and wife.

One of my favorite moments of the day!

Ok, so I absolutely adore this couple! They were so sweet and so much fun to be around! During the bridle photos they were goofy and energetic, but also so sweet towards the other! I loved it!!! AND- What a great looking couple! Sarah looked, simply put: STUNNING! I mean, a gorgeous to begin with, but when you add the happiness of marrying her incredible husband her beauty was evident. And let’s not forget the leading man. Iver is quite a handsome devil himself!

The atmosphere of their reception was welcoming and relaxed- a mirror of Sarah and Iver. As I looked around all I saw were smiling faces and people intent on good conversation. A happy day filled with good food, music and dancing, and love in the faces of family and friends.

And I just had to add these two photos to this journalistic experience. I love watching the little girls with Sarah. The way they looked at her was honestly one of the coolest things; they looked at her as if they had seen a fairytale come true. And in a way it had. Sarah was living her fairytale and her “Happily Ever After” just beginning. It was like magic to these little girls, and you could see the magic in their eyes.

I had a rather unique experience while documenting this beautiful day- I mean there were plenty of firsts and I loved every moment of it, but the thing I loved most was that I could actually feel the love Iver and Sarah have for the other! Now, I don't know if this is something that one can feel of most couples on their wedding day (this was after all my first official wedding) but either way, to feel it of these two was truly extraordinary! I wish Sarah and Iver the best. A lifetime filled with love and adventure. And I am so grateful they asked me to photography their wedding day, a day I will always love to look back on.
